About the event
Fr. Martin is at Church for Confession an hour prior to Readers Vespers.
In the Eastern Orthodox Church, confession (also called the Mystery of Repentance) is a sacred sacrament through which a person receives forgiveness of sins from Christ through the Church.
The priest does not forgive by his own power.
In Orthodox prayers of absolution, the priest says: “May God forgive you…”
The forgiveness comes from *Christ, but through the Church He established.
