Life in the Heavens

"Life in the heavens, therefore is a social life. The righteous are not hermits. Paradise is not a monastery... Have we not all lost a father, mother, brother, sister, child, husband, wife, a loved one?

And does not our mind constantly ponder their memory, which is forever inscribed in our imagination?

This longing has a corresponding reality. Our meeting with our loved ones will take place in the heavens, and not only with a small number of loved ones, but also with a host of other pious and respected beings who lived on earth before us or with us and who, because of their noble morality lay claim to our compassion.

Because '... the nature of the life above is love,' said the philosopher father of the Church-St. Gregory of Nyssa-" (Fr. Constantine Callinicos).
