An ancient icon of the Virgin Mary, Saint Dovmont and Saint Martha🖤

The miraculous Mirozh Icon was painted according to the Oranta (Praying) rite. Pskov saints stand before the Mother of God: on the right is the holy and faithful Prince Dovmont, known in monasticism as Timothy (commemorated on May 20), and on the left is his wife, the Venerable Martha, also known as Maria Dmitrievna, in a prayerful posture. It is not without reason that it is believed that the images of the prince and his wife appeared on the icon later, as the icon was first painted in 1198, and the prince died in 1299.
